ParentSquare
How to add ParentSquare events to Google Calendar
Your district posts everything in ParentSquare, and your family runs on Google Calendar. The good news: ParentSquare can feed school events straight into Google. The catch: a feed is a list of dates, not a plan for who does what.

The quick answer
In ParentSquare on the web, open Calendar, click Subscribe and copy the calendar link. In Google Calendar on a computer, click the + next to Other calendars, choose From URL, paste the link and add it. School, class and group events then appear in Google and update on their own when the school changes them.
Subscribe to ParentSquare in Google Calendar
- 1
Sign in to ParentSquare in a web browser (the steps are easier on a computer than in the app).
- 2
Open Calendar. In many districts it's in the left sidebar under Explore.
- 3
Click Subscribe, usually at the top right, and copy the calendar link it gives you.
- 4
Open Google Calendar on a computer. Next to Other calendars, click the + and choose From URL.
- 5
Paste the ParentSquare link and click Add calendar. Give it a few minutes to fill in.
- 6
On your phone, open the Google Calendar app's settings and make sure the new calendar is switched on so it shows up there too.
Tip: most schools, public and private, publish a calendar on their website, often with a Subscribe, iCal or Add to Google Calendar button. That covers school-wide dates such as holidays, early release and conferences; ParentSquare adds the class and group events. Menu names vary by district and app version. In the ParentSquare app, some districts offer a setting to add events to your phone's calendar automatically (under Account, then Preferences). If your screen looks different, your school's ParentSquare help page will have the exact steps.
What that gets you, and what it doesn't
You get
- School, class and group events in your Google Calendar
- Changes and cancellations updated automatically
- One place to look, instead of two apps
You still have to
- Read the post itself for what to bring, wear, sign or pay
- Work out who is doing pickup when the time changes
- Spot that the early dismissal lands on swim night
- Add it to your partner's or sitter's view of the week
- Remember the permission slip due two days before
Where Fivey takes over
It reads the posts, not just the dates
Set ParentSquare to email you each post (in its notification settings). Fivey reads those emails and pulls out the date, the child and the job, so "wear blue Friday" and "form due Wednesday" become reminders on the right day.
It checks the feed against your real week
Paste the ParentSquare link into Fivey's settings under Other calendars. Fivey reads it alongside your family's calendars, never adds a second copy of something already there, and flags a clash with a fix ready.
It finds your school's own calendar
Tell Fivey your school when you set up. It looks up the school's website and finds the calendar page and term dates for you to check, so school-wide dates and class posts end up in one place.
It tells the right person
When pickup moves, Fivey texts whoever is on pickup that day, with just what they need to know.
You just say yes. How Fivey asks.
